Creme Brulee is one of my favorite easy dessert recipes and it’s only made with three ingredients! The silky texture and rich vanilla flavor make this taste restaurant quality. Would you believe me if I told you all you need is vanilla ice cream, eggs, and granulated sugar? Well, believe it because my recipe is really that simple! Grab your spoon, crack through the sugar topping and scoop up a generous amount of that creamy custard. This would be perfect for a dine-in date night! Make it with me!
Vanilla Creme Brulee
Creme brulee literally means “burnt cream.” It has a creamy custard center and a hardened sugar topping which is essentially granulated sugar sprinkled over the top and caramelized or “burnt”.
In restaurants, they use a small propane torch.
But, I have a simple hack for how to get that caramelized sugar topping without the torch! It has all the fun of cracking through the sugar to get to the cream, with no open flame. Trust me, it’s so delicious there will be no words, only sound effects.
To make this recipe easy and simple, you will only need three ingredients including vanilla ice cream!
What You Need to Make Creme Brulee with Ice Cream
- Vanilla Ice Cream- I like using vanilla bean but any type and brand works
- Eggs
- Granulated Sugar
- And technically water, but that’s hardly an ingredient so we aren’t counting it as one!
I love this dish and this three-ingredient recipe will become your new favorite for sure! Try it out and let me know what you think!
I wrote my recipe to make 2 dishes in individual ramekins but you can double or triple this recipe as many times as you need to make more!
Creme Brulee Ramekins
Creme Brulee is an individual serving dessert that is served out of a ramekin dish.
I find that ramekins can be purchased all over! I’ve seen them at Home Goods and Target, but you can also order them online.
I have a set of white ones and a cute set of pink ones that I like to use for events like Valentine’s Day! I’ll link my pink set here.
How to Bake Creme Brulee
When baking this dish, you bake them in a water bath in the oven and then chill them in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving. This is a great make-ahead recipe and the baked custard can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
Just be sure to add the sugar right before serving! Don’t store them with the sugar on top because it will soften in the fridge and you want them to be crunchy.

Easy Creme Brulee
Easy Creme Brulee is a favorite easy dessert recipe and is only made with 3 ingredients! The silky texture makes this taste restaurant quality.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vanilla bean ice cream
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325˚F.
- Scoop the ice cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the ice cream for 30 to 40 seconds or until completely melted.
- Add the egg yolks into the melted ice cream and whisk well.
- Prepare the ramekins by greasing with pam. Divide the mixture between two ramekins. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and pour hot water into the dish to come roughly halfway up the sides of the ramekin.
- Bake for 35 minutes. The creme brulee should be set, but still a little jiggly in the middle. Remove the ramekins from the dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, and up to 3 days.
- Remove the crème brûlée from the refrigerator just before serving.
- For the caramelized sugar, add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir it continuously until the sugar melts down and begins to brown. Once golden, pour over the creme brulee and let it sit for a few minutes to set. Enjoy!
Notes
For 4-6 servings, simply double or triple all the ingredients in this recipe.
