These biscuits & gravy bombs are the bomb! They are a fun, delicious new way to serve traditional biscuits and gravy. The homemade sausage gravy is simply divine. The creamy sausage gravy mixture is wrapped inside the biscuit dough and baked until golden brown and fluffy. Finish each bomb off with a non-negotiable drizzle of honey and dive in. You’re in for a treat with this one! Enjoy!
What Are Biscuits & Gravy Bombs
Like a kolache, these biscuit bombs will be your new favorite breakfast food. They contain a hearty, warm sausage gravy wrapped inside biscuit dough and baked perfectly.
I do homemade gravy with store-bought biscuits. There’s nothing wrong with a little semi-homemade breakfast. If you want to make the biscuits from scratch, check out my sourdough biscuit recipe.
These little bombs are easy and fun to make! They are portable, so you can eat them as finger food, though I recommend using a fork.
A little egg wash before baking goes a long way to making these golden brown! I bake them up in the oven according to the biscuit package directions.
Add a Touch of Honey
My non-negotiable for biscuits & gravy bombs, or even traditional biscuits and gravy, is the drizzle of honey on top.
The sweet compliments the savory so well! It goes a long way to make this dish spectacular!
You can use regular honey or even hot honey. I like the spicy hot honey from Trader Joe’s for a sweet little kick.
Try it! You’ll thank me later, I promise.

Ingredients
- 1- 8 count package of Biscuit dough
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup half & half
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- Honey for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook the sausage in the butter over medium heat on the stovetop. Brown until cooked through.
- Sprinkle on the flour and mix to combine.
- Slowly add the milk and half-and-half to allow the mixture to thicken. Reduce the heat to a simmer and simmer for 4-5 minutes until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Roll out each biscuit round into a flat circle. Place about 1/3 cup of the sausage gravy in the center, then fold the sides around it, pinching in the middle to create tension.
- Place the bombs seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining biscuits. Brush the tops of each bomb with the egg wash.
- Bake according to the package instructions.
- Drizzle with honey and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
You can make these ahead of time by preparing the gravy the night before. For best results, wrap and bake the bombs the day you intend to eat them.
