What Is “Marry Me” Chicken?
The term “marry me chicken” became popular online a few years ago. It traditionally refers to a chicken recipe that contains sundried tomatoes, heavy cream, and spinach.
It’s a dish so delicious that whoever you prepare it for will want to marry you. This is my spin-off version of the trending marry-me chicken concept. I hope you enjoy it!
What You Need To Make Marry Me Orzo Pasta
- 1.5 Pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken breast cut into cubes
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Shallot, diced
- ยพ Cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes, packed in oil and drained
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 2 Teaspoons Paprika
- ยฝ Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Cup Orzo
- 2 ยพ Cups Chicken Broth
- ยพ Cup Heavy Cream- you could also substitute coconut milk for heavy cream in this recipe!
- 2 Large Handfuls Fresh Spinach
- 1/2 cup Cherry Tomatoes, halved
- ยพ Cup Parmesan Cheese

How To Make Marry Me Orzo Pasta
- Slice the chicken into bite-sized cubes.
- Heat a Dutch oven or skillet on the stove over medium heat. Add the oil and the chicken. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the edges start to brown. Add the shallot and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 3-4 more minutes.
- Add in the orzo and broth and stir well.
- Reduce the heat to medium, cover the pan, and cook for 12 minutes. Remove the cover every few minutes and stir to ensure the orzo doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
- Once the orzo is cooked, add heavy cream, spinach, and cherry tomatoes and stir until the spinach is wilted.
- Finally, add in the freshly-grated parmesan cheese and stir. Serve hot & enjoy!
