Sometimes an event or party needs a little finger food appetizer. These little Caprese Bites are perfect for any event! A little cherry tomato, mozzarella, and fresh basil goes a long way! Plus, guests can drizzle a little balsamic glaze over the top and they will be in heaven! Delicious, bite sized, and the perfect party favor! Make it with me!
For the mozzarella in this recipe, I think it’s the easiest to take a string cheese and chunk it into 5 pieces! You could also use a baby bell cheese and cut in into cubes. The most important this is making sure you are using cheese with a good flavor. Because this recipe has minimal ingredients, you want to use really fresh and flavorful ingredients.
I recommend buying a fresh basil plant if you are going to make a lot of bites, as many as this recipe calls for. Buying the basil plant will give you not only a ton of leaves to use, but you can also keep watering it and it will continue to grow! I always have a fresh basil plant on hand because I love having fresh herbs in my cooking. I buy mine usually at Trader Joes!
