My favorite dessert, hands down, are warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies. I am very particular about how my chocolate chip cookies taste. They have to pass the golden brown edges and bottom test while having a soft and chewy center! These chocolate chip cookies are delicious! There are hundreds of chocolate chip cookies recipes out there. Everyone has their favorite! But, in my mind, this recipe really stands out. These chocolate chip cookies are the chewiest of chewy and the softest of soft. They are extra-thick bakery style with an under-baked center, and it has to be exploding with chocolate! This is my go-to recipe for these drop cookies. Make them with me!
Milk Chocolate Chips
If you know me, you know that I love milk chocolate. I don’t mess around with any other type of chocolate.
I like milk chocolate the best.
You can make this recipe with the chocolate chips you prefer, but I recommend milk chocolate.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Tips
- Always use cold butter cut up into tablespoons. This helps the cookies to not spread and create too thin of cookies.
- Cream together the butter and the sugars for 3-5 minutes on high. You want it to look light and fluffy before adding the rest of the ingredients in.
- Measure the flour by scooping and scraping the top off into the cut. You don’t want to use too much flour because you don’t want a dense cookie.
- Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
- Bake until golden brown but allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the hot cookie sheet out of the oven for a crisp bottom.
I like this recipe because it is so simple. All the ingredients used are ingredients that I have on hand all of the time. It really is a minimalist recipe that is super easy to follow!
