Savory Pumpkin Hummus is perfect for serving at your Halloween or game day parties this Fall. The sweetness of pumpkin is an amazing addition to the traditional savory hummus! Delicious served with veggies and pita chips! Make it with me!
The Dippers
To serve, I think pita bread is always the right answer for hummus-dipping. Either serve warm, soft pita cut into wedges or use pita chips—either way, it’s my favorite vehicle for this dip! You can also serve it up with cut veggies like the carrots and cucumbers pictured here! Tortilla chips, pretzels, or really any cracker that you prefer will also work for this recipe.
This Savory Pumpkin Hummus is the perfect Fall appetizer to share with friends and family!
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?
pumpkin puree
tahini
canned chickpeas
cumin
maple syrup
garlic
salt
extra virgin olive oil
paprika
Savory Hummas
This hummus is mainly savory, but the recipe does call for just a splash of pure maple syrup. It isn’t for sweetness, it’s for the amazing fall flavor of maple. It just adds a little somethin’ special. Trust me. Don’t skip it!
If you feel that this recipe needs more flavor, feel free to add additional seasonings and spices to your liking! I added the salt to taste, so it may require a little bit more!
I also topped the hummus before serving with additional olive oil and pumpkin seeds to add a little extra crunch! Optional, but it makes it taste amazing and it looks pretty too!
