The perfect party treat for entertaining a large crowd are these Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars! A deliciously soft sugar cookie, topped with homemade buttercream and sprinkles! Pretty and pink and absolutely perfect. Make it with me!
Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars
This cookie bar is on of those easy desserts that I make over and over again. I love making this bar cookie because it is always a crowd pleaser.
The cookie layer itself creates a soft and delicious sugar cookie. The perfect amount of sweetness to compliment the buttercream.
The frosting is made up of a homemade buttercream and topped with those fun, colorful sprinkles!
It’s all the fun of sugar cookies, but half the work! Rather than frosting each individual sugar cookie, you can simply frost the whole thing at once! How is that for a win?
Buttercream Frosting and Sprinkles
The frosting for this recipe is a homemade buttercream made up of butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
I chose to color it pink to create that classic sugar cookie vibe. When I was little, I used to love those giant pink sugar cookies you would buy at the gas station. I know, crazy but my grandma always bought them for me and I loved it.
You can color the frosting however you’d like! Or you can keep it white, that would be pretty too!
As for the sprinkles, those are optional! Feel free to use any colors, flavors, or styles you want. Or leave them off completely, up to you.
Crowd Pleasing Recipes
It’s nice to have a couple of tried and true crowd pleasing recipes in your back pocket. These Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are a timeless favorite.
My favorite thing about this recipe is that it can make up to 50 servings if you need it to. Once, I catered a wedding and I made this recipe. I cut the bar cookie up into tiny cubes and placed them on a platter. It was a hit!
Or, you can serve it up as 24 servings, like recipe suggests. That is the beauty of this recipe, you can make as many servings as you need!
