The Air Fryer is this year’s latest and greatest kitchen appliance! Many people are obsessed with this little fryer, and for good reason! It cooks food quickly and evenly, and recipes turn out perfect every time! It’s a healthier way to “fry” foods because you aren’t submerging the food in oil and adding those extra calories. One of my favorite healthy dishes to make in mine is Air Fryer Salmon & Veggies. Simple and delicious!
What is an Air Fryer?
You might be asking, what is an air fryer? An air fryer is a small countertop convection oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil. By most measures, air frying is healthier than frying in oil. It cuts calories by 70% to 80% and has a lot less fat.
Anything you can bake you can make in an air fryer, including chicken, potatoes, fish, veggies, and more. The air fryer cooks food to the perfect temperature, making sure the end result is always juicy and tender.
Air Fryer Salmon
Salmon can be tricky to get right. I would have never guessed making salmon in an air fryer would result in the most tender and juicy salmon every time. But, it does!
Fish is one of my favorite things to prepare in the air fryer because it is so simple and easy.
The best part? You can air fry your salmon frozen! No waiting or thawing is required with this recipe. You simply just increase the cooking time.
Air Fryer Veggies
Another thing I love to make in the air fryer are veggies! The air fryer cooks vegetables quickly and evenly but above all, it gives them a delicious crispness to them!
You can make any veggies in the air fryer- potatoes, broccoli, asparagus, carrots, and more! For this Air Fryer Salmon & Veggies recipe, I chose to use broccoli.

Air Fryer Salmon & Veggies
Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets (4-6 ounces)
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- salt & pepper
- 2 Tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 1 cup broccoli
- 1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
- salt & pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees and set the timer to 6 minutes if thawed or 12 minutes if frozen.
- Rub a tablespoon of oil on each salmon fillet then season generously with salt and pepper.
- Add the salmon to the fryer basket and cook. When the air fryer chimes to "flip food" about halfway through, don't flip it. Instead, open the basket and brush the teriyaki sauce on top of the fillets. Return the basket to the fryer and finish the cooking process.
- Meanwhile, while the salmon is cooking, toss the broccoli in a little olive oil and salt and pepper. Set aside.
- When the salmon is finished, remove it from the basket.
- Add the broccoli to the basket, reduce the air fryer temperature to 360 and fry it for 3-4 minutes, until it's toasted and cooked. Enjoy!

What kind of air fryer would you recommend? And what it an advantage of air frying over baking? Thank you!!

I have the Instant brand of air fryer and I’ve been very happy with it! I prefer using my air fryer because it heats up quickly and cooks the fish in minutes. Nothing wrong with the oven, I just prefer method for quick and easy meals.
