This Honey Apple Lemonade recipe is so refreshing! It’s an unexpected flavor combination that just works! The apple and lemon flavors compliment each other so well, and the honey brings it all together. I also add a few springs of fresh mint to the mix and it’s a real treat! This drink recipe only requires four ingredients and ice and it can be made as a single serving or on a large scale to serve a crowd.
Where Did This Honey Apple Lemonade Come From?
This recipe, like a lot of recipes on my site, came as an inspiration to recreate something I’ve tried when eating out. I love when I order and find something delicious, I can go home and try to recreate it myself.
My dad actually ordered this Honey Apple Lemonade in Las Vegas at True Food Kitchen. The waiter suggested it and in my family, we love flavorful mixed drinks, so he gave it a try!
Surprisingly enough, the flavors complimented each other so well, and this mixed lemonade was a hit!
When recreating the recipe at home, it was all about getting the ratio right. It needed to be more lemonade than apple, but also needed to have the fresh honey incorporated.
During the recipe creation process, when we finally felt like we got it right, we decided to add a little more flavor by dropping in a couple fresh mint leaves. WOW!
Absolutely delicious. The flavors all merry together in the best way! It’s so yummy!
What You’ll Need
- Lemonade- you can use store bought or mix it up yourself. We’ve also found that light lemonade tastes really delicious in this recipe too!
- Apple Juice- ANY apple juice will work.
- Honey
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Ice
Tips to Making This Lemonade Great
- Use the 2:1 ratio with the lemonade and apple juice. The lemonade needs to be stronger than the apple, but still allow it to shine through.
- Use Fresh Ingredients- fresh raw honey and fresh mint leaves taste amazing!
- Time- after you’ve mixed the drink all together, the longer it sits and the flavors incorporate, the better it tastes. When you let it sit, even for 10 minutes, it allows the honey to dissolve into the juice and the mint becomes more prevalent.
- Make Ahead- this is a great make ahead recipe! Mix everything together and then leave it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. We’ve mixed batches together and let them sit in the fridge overnight and they are even better the next day!
