Air Fryer Shrimp
If you are wondering how long to cook shrimp in the air fryer, it depends on if you are working with thawed or frozen shrimp! Air fryer frozen shrimp is so simple to make!
Thawed shrimp will cook quicker than frozen, but both are ready and done in under 10 minutes!
Thawed, fresh shrimp will cook up in about 6 minutes, and frozen shrimp will cook up in 8 minutes. You want the shrimp to look plump, and pink!
You can also check to make sure the internal temperature of the shrimp reads at least 120°F.
Cooking Shrimp in Air Fryer
- Start by cleaning the shrimp. Remove shells and veins.
- Mix oil, honey, and lemon juice with seasoning in a small bowl.
- Brush shrimp with seasoning mixture.
- Arrange shrimp in air fryer basket or rack.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes
Seasonings and Flavor
The recipe below is my favorite way to make this shrimp! It’s well seasoned, flavorful, and can go in a variety of dishes including tacos, salads, and even served over rice!
However, feel free to customize the seasonings and flavor to your liking! Add more or less to your liking, and make this recipe your own!
Additional flavors that would be yummy would be adding onera seasoning, chili powder, taco seasoning, cumin, honey, fresh lime, or even orange juice!
You can never go wrong with adding a little butter too! Add a tablespoon of melted butter to the mix and it’ll be delicious!

These Air Fryer Shrimp are plump, juicy, and perfectly seasoned! This healthy dish is ready in just 6 minutes and is so easy to make!
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1 lemon, juiced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cleaning the shrimp by removing shells and veins. Run under tap water, then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Mix oil, honey, and lemon juice with seasoning in a small bowl.
- Brush shrimp with seasoning mixture on both sides.
- Arrange shrimp in an air fryer basket or rack, in a single layer.
- Cook at 375 degrees F for 5-6 minutes (no need to turn them). Serve.
Notes
*Fresh shrimp will cook up faster than frozen, but both can be made in the air fryer! Frozen will take closer to 6 minutes to cook. You want the shrimp to be nice and pink! You can also test the internal temp to 120°F.
