This recipe is my favorite brownie recipe of all time! It is the perfect dessert to take to parties and events because just as the title states, there is enough to feed a crowd! This brownie recipe is made in a cookie sheet, and can serve up to 40 people! It is perfect for those days when you are entertaining a lot of people, making desserts for multiple events, or for when you need a quick, easy recipe! Everyone that tries these brownies, loves them and I’m sure your guests and families will too! They are a perfect treat to share for this Fourth of July!
What I love about this recipe is how easy it is to follow! When I am making Brownies for a Crowd, I literally throw all of the ingredients into my kitchenaid and turn on the mixer. As soon as everything is incorporated, I dump all the mixture into a well greased pan and place it in the oven! The recipe is tried and true and will turn out perfectly every time! Also, the ingredients in this recipe are typically ingredients that I have on hand in my kitchen! I keep a fully loading baking section, but I usually have everything I need to whip up an delicious pan of brownies!
My favorite part is the chocolate glaze that goes on top of the brownies! It is made in a saucepan and becomes melty and delicious and easy to spread across the top of the brownies. I like to make my lines even and perfect and because the frosting is so liquidy, it is easy to make it do what I want. Once I get it perfect, I top it with my favorite seasonal sprinkles and let it set. The glaze will harden and become and delicious frosting layer!
This recipe can be made for any holiday or event because you can change the color of the sprinkles. With the Fourth of July on my mind this week, I decided to top mine with red and white sprinkles, and serve them on blue plates! My family loved them and so will yours! I’ve also done this for Christmas with red and green, baby showers with pink and blue, and halloween with orange and brown! Whatever you need it to be, this dessert can be it!
Brownies for a Crowd
Cookie Sheet Size
3 cups flour
1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon cocoa
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, melted
5 eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
6 tablespoons milk
3 1/2 teaspoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
3-5 cups powdered sugar (add until consistency is like lava)
Add all ingredients to a stand mixer. Beat on medium speed for about 3 minutes, allowing all of the ingredients to incorporate. Next, pour the batter into a well greased cookie sheet. (I always use the light colored ones). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. While the brownies are baking, prepare frosting.
Boil together butter, cocoa, milk, and vanilla. Remove from heat and add in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until you have reached the desired consistency.
Pour frosting over hot brownies and top with nuts or sprinkles if desired. Let cool until frosting is set. Enjoy!
