The best Instant Pot Bacon & Brussels. I purposely put bacon first because people like bacon, more than they like Brussel sprouts! But Brussel Sprouts can be really good if they are cooked right! I cook these up in my Instant Pot and they turn out perfect every time! Plus, we toss them in butter, bacon, and cheese so that helps. Make it with me!
Brussel Sprouts
Instant Pot Bacon & Brussels
I buy Brussel Sprouts in a two pound bag from Smith’s. I like to remove them from the bag, give them a quick rinse, then slice them in half before I cook them.
Opening up the Brussel Sprouts helps them to cook more evenly and allows them to be flavored even more!
Don’t knock it until you try it! I actually really like Brussel Sprouts when they are made right! Plus it’s fun to shake up your veggies every once in awhile. I feel like broccoli get’s way too much attention.
Instant Pot Veggies
Instant Pot veggies are great because they cook up in no time and they are always so easy! There are a couple of tips to be sure to be successful every time! Instant Pot Bacon & Brussels
- Invest in a steamer basket! They are super cheap on Amazon and they will help your veggies “steam” in the Instant Pot rather than “boil” in the water. Without it, you risk your veggies ending up mushy. My steamer basket is linked on Amazon HERE!
- Always quick release the pressure. When cooking in the Instant Pot, the pot will take 5-10 minutes to come to pressure before the time even starts counting down. During this time, the veggies are still cooking. To avoid mushy veggies, as soon as the timer sounds that they are done, quick release the pressure by turning the valve to venting and remove the lid once the pin drops.
- Be sure to add 1/2 cup water to the bottom of the pot before cooking. The water is what will create the steam and actually cook the veggies. Without it, the veggies will not cook.
