Baked Chicken Tostadas
If you want to shake up your traditional taco night, try these baked chicken tostadas. They have the same feeling and flexibility as tacos but are baked on a tostada shell.
You can top each tostada with anything you traditionally like on your taco. My favorite recipe includes shredded lettuce, pico, crumbled cheese, cilantro, and chicken.

What You’ll Need To Make Chicken Tostadas
- tostada shells- found near the tortillas at the grocery store
- refried beans
- taco seasoning
- shredded cheese
- cooked chicken
- shredded lettuce
- pico
- crumbled cheese
- cilantro
Other delicious toppings include cilantro lime dressing, pickled red onions, jalapenos, corn, sour cream, or guacamole. The options are endless!

Shredded Chicken
One of the things that makes this recipe so fast is using pre-cooked chicken.
I recommend using rotisserie chicken or shredded chicken you have already prepped. This keeps this recipe under 20 minutes.
I suggest trying my shredded sweet chicken if you need to make chicken for this recipe. It’s one of my all-time favorite ways to prepare chicken.
However, you can also use shredded beef or pork for this recipe if you prefer those proteins over chicken.

Chicken Tostadas
These easy Chicken Tostadas are the perfect weeknight dinner dish. They come together in under 20 minutes and are delicious.
Ingredients
- 4 tostada shells
- 1 can refried beans
- 1 Tablespoon taco seasoning
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup pico salsa
- 1/4 cup crumbled cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix the refried beans and taco seasoning. Set aside.
- Place the tostada shells on a baking sheet. Spread a generous scoop of the beans on each shell, sprinkle with cheese, and add 1/2 cup of chicken to each shell.
- Bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with lettuce, pico, cheese, and cilantro. Enjoy!
