- Corn Tostadas
- Chickpea or Garbanzo Beans
- Taco Seasoning
- Shredded Cheese

How to Make Chickpeas into “Refried Beans”
Turning chickpeas or garbanzo beans into a “refried bean” texture and flavor are fast and easy!
First, rinse and drain your chickpeas then add them to a small saucepan over medium heat. Once the chickpeas begin to warm up, add the taco seasoning and begin to mash.
You can use a potato masher or a fork and mash the chickpeas down until they have a refried bean consistency.
Continue heating the garbanzo beans until they are smooth and heated all the way through. Then use as desired in tacos, burritos, or on tostadas like this recipe states!

Chickpea Tostadas

Ingredients
- 6 corn tostadas
- 1 can of chickpea or garbanzo beans
- 1 Tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup arugula
- Any other taco toppings you like 🙂
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the chickpeas and place in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Heat the chickpeas for a few minutes, then add the taco seasoning and begin to mash them down using a potato masher or a fork. You want it to resemble refried beans.
- Once the garbanzo beans are mashed and heated through, spread them on your tostada, and top with arugula, tomatoes, and cheese. Enjoy!
