This recipe is the perfect group date bar cookie dessert. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. The foundation for this recipe came from Bailee and I looking in the pantry for what ingredients we had to use. We found butterscotch chips, caramel chips, sweetened condensed milk, and coconut flakes. Naturally, we tried to find a recipe and a way to use all of our favorite things. Bar cookies are always easy to make so we took that route. They turned out so great! I recommend serving hot, with vanilla bean ice cream on the side. Delicious combo.
Tips about this recipe:
-Overcook just a bit. This makes the edges and top extra crispy, which adds a nice texture to the soft, caramel center.
-All the chips we used were what we had on hand. Use what you have and what you like.
-When placing in 9×13 pan, spray hands with cooking spray and flatten the batter. Your hands are the best cooking utensil in the kitchen.
