This Cranberry Salad is such an easy and delicious fruit salad! It’s a great make-ahead side for the holiday season! This Cranberry Salad is made with cranberries, crushed pineapple, sugar, apples, cool whip, and mini marshmallows! I like it because you can toss together the first three ingredients and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Then, the next morning, you simply need to drain the base and fold in a few more ingredients before serving!
Christmas Cranberry Salad
A more fitting name for this fruit salad would be the Christmas cranberry salad because we always make this for Christmas Eve!
Cranberries are in season during the winter months so they are easy to find at your local grocery store!
We look forward to having this salad on our table ever year, it’s tradition!
Make-Ahead Salad
The thing I like about this salad is that I can make it ahead of time! I can do the prep work the night before and allow the salad to set up in the fridge overnight.
For this recipe, we start by chopping up the cranberries either in the blender or by hand. We then add the crushed pineapple and sugar to it and set it in an airtight container in the fridge over night.
Just before serving, about an hour or so before, we drain the base in a strainer for 60 minutes to really let it drain out.
Then, all that’s left is to fold in some diced apples, cool whip, and mini marshmallows! So easy and delicious!
