What is Puff Popcorn?
Puff Popcorn is a puffed corn snack that is made with cornmeal and then baked. You can purchase it at many local grocery stores.
Pirates Booty is the most common puffed corn on the market and you can purchase large bags of it from Costco! For this recipe, I used the off-brand puff corn from Smith’s and it works just as well. I want to say that it may have been a little cheaper too! Whatever you can find at your local retailer will work for this recipe!
You can also use regular popcorn if you want to substitute it for the puffed stuff. Either will have the same delicious caramel corn taste!

Easy Caramel Puff Corn
This puff caramel corn comes together in a matter of minutes, and it's delicious! It's a crowd-pleasing treat!
Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup karo syrup
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large bag puffed popcorn
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together brown sugar and Karo syrup. Bring to a boil and stir continuously for 4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and vanilla. Return to heat and continue stirring until butter melts.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the puffed corn and toss until well coated.
- Spread out onto parchment or wax paper to cool. Caramel will be soft but not sticky!
