Fresh Fruit Salad
This year I am making my Red White & Blueberry Fruit Salad for the 4th of July! I love how the colors are bright and fun! Plus, the fresh fruit this time of year is so delicious and refreshing.
I love serving this fruit salad chilled as a side salad! But, I also love adding a dollop of coolwhip to the top and making it more of a dessert treat!
However you choose to serve it, I am certain your friends and family will LOVE IT!
Fresh is Best!
I recommend using fresh blueberries and strawberries for this fresh fruit salad recipe! They hold up better than frozen and taste delicious.
To prep the strawberries, I love using the strawberry huller I found on amazon! It pulls the stems of the strawberries right out and makes it easy for me to cut them up!
This summer fruit salad recipe also calls for a fresh banana, fresh lime juice, and mini marshmallows! Like I said, fresh is best for a simple recipe like this one.
Honey Lime Glaze
For this recipe, I didn’t want to make a heavy fruit salad that was coated in cool whip or yogurt. I wanted the bright colors of the berries to shine through for this summer fruit salad.
I chose to do a simple syrup made up of honey and fresh lime juice! That’s it! This topping is tangy and sweet and wonderful! Try it out and see!
