I wanted to take this simple breakfast idea to the next level by making simple avocado toast with egg! Adding a fried egg on top adds more protein to help make this a macro-friendly breakfast. Avocado toast is literally the easiest breakfast to make, ever! If you can make toast, you can make avocado toast.
Simply toast your bread and when it’s done, I like to butter it!
Take an avocado and cut it open in half.
Remove the pit and the peel on the one side, then smash it up. You can get fancy at this point and make shapes or cool designs, but who has time for that?
Spread the mashed avocado over the top of the buttered toast and enjoy!
Fried Egg
For this recipe for simple avocado toast with egg, you can make your fried egg in a frying pan.
It’s up to you whether you leave your yolks running or hard.
In these pictures, the yolk is running but I also enjoy it over hard too!
Any seasonings?
You can definitely season this recipe anyway you like! Some of my favorites are salt and pepper, garlic salt, everything but the bagel, paprika, and minced onion.

Fried Egg Avocado Toast
Ingredients
- 1 piece whole wheat toast
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 avocado, mashed
- salt & pepper
- everything but the bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Start by placing your bread in the toaster and toast until golden. Butter when finished.
- Fry an egg over medium high heat on a frying pan.
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and mash up the one side.
- Spread mashed avocado over the toast, then top with the fried egg. Season with salt & pepper and everything but the bagel seasoning.
- Enjoy!
