These homemade pizza hot pockets are everyone’s favorite! I love these homemade pizza pockets because you can pretty much put whatever you want inside of them. You can load them with veggies, and meats, or simply load them with cheese. You can add all your favorite pizza toppings! They are totally customizable and easy to make! It’s like an adult hot pocket! Make them with me!
What You’ll Need to Make Pizza Pockets
- Lavash Wrap: I like to use Lavash wraps as my “crust” for the hot pockets. I buy them at Trader Joe’s, but you can also buy them at Walmart! Lavash is a fully baked flatbread that is usually lower in sodium, less doughy and chewy, and generally contains less oil.
- Garlic Butter: To brush on the lavash wrap! More flavor!
- Pizza Sauce: I also like the pizza sauce from Trader Joe’s, but you can use any marinara sauce you like! You could make a homemade sauce, or even use alfredo or BBQ sauce too!
- Mozzarella Cheese: With any pizza, you have to have shredded mozzarella cheese!
- Toppings: Toppings could be, but are not limited to, pepperoni, ham, sausage, bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms, pineapple, fresh basil, olives, and parmesan cheese.
- Olive Oil: I like to coat the outsides of the pizza hot pockets with a little olive oil. This helps make them crispy and golden on the outsides!
How to Make Pizza Hot Pockets
- Heat a pan on your stovetop to medium heat.
- Butter the lavash wrap with a little garlic butter.
- Layer the pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and desired toppings inside the wrap in a circle.
- Fold the lavash wrap up starting from opposite sides, then repeat with the remaining two opposite sides until it’s all sealed up.
- Brush the outside of the wrap with a little olive oil, then place it seam-side down in the pan. Put a little pressure on the top of the wrap to distribute the heat.
- Brush the other side with olive oil, and flip and cook until golden brown.
- Slice on the diagonal and enjoy!
