These Lemon Protein Donuts are seriously my favorite flavor! I know I say that about all of my protein donuts, because I love them all, but this one is my favorite! The lemon flavor is bright, the donut is light and cakey, and the frosting is delicious! Lower in calories per serving than traditional donuts and amazing macros, this recipe is a great healthy treat to make! Make it with me!

Baked Lemon Protein Donuts
This Lemon Protein Donut is seriously so yummy it’s addicting! Truthfully, I almost like them better without the frosting! But, I’ve never been a real frosting fan.
So you can make them with or without! The donuts have incredible macros for something that tastes this good! I love them and I think you will too!

What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons almond flour
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar or sugar alternative
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- A Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 Tablespoons melted coconut oil
- A teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- small pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup vanilla protein powder- I like using clean simple eats (use my code ALEXDAYNES to save)
- 3 Tablespoons unsweetened almond milk
LEMON GLAZE
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons plain dairy-free yogurt
- A Tablespoon honey
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- A Tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

The lemon isn’t as tart as you would think. The donuts are actually very light, and flavorful, with a mild lemon touch.

Lemon Protein Donuts
The best lemon protein donuts! Bright, refreshing, and a delicious healthy treat!
Ingredients
- 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons almond flour
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar or sugar alternative
- 1/3 cup Vanilla Protein Powder, I like clean simple eats
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 Tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- small pinch of salt
- 3 Tablespoons unsweetened almond milk
Lemon Glaze
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons plain dairy free yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven 350F.
- Add all the donut ingredients into a medium bowl.
- Use an electric mixer on medium/high speed to completely combine the batter. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times while mixing.
- Grease a 6 hole donut pan and spray with cooking spray.
- Pour or pipe the batter evenly into the six molds.
- Bake 15-17 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Make sure not to overbake.
- Meanwhile, add the lemon glaze ingredients to a small bowl and whisk them together.
- Remove the donuts and allow them to cool in the pan for 3-4 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Once cool, use a spoon to glaze each donut. Top each glazed donut with lemon zest and enjoy!
