Well now, that is a problem no more! You can quickly soften the potatoes in the Instant Pot in 8 minutes! Add a little cream and milk, and you have delicious instant pot garlic mashed potatoes ready to rock in roll in no time!

What You’ll Need
- 6 potatoes of choice, my favorite are Yukon Gold
- 2cups water
- salt
- milk
- butter
- sour cream

Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes
Creamy, fork tender Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes! Never cook mashed potatoes another way again!
Ingredients
- 6 potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Peel and prep potatoes.
- Add the potatoes and water to the Instant Pot. Be sure that all the potatoes are submerged in the water. Add additional water if needed.
- Lock the lid, set the valve to seal, and manually set the timer to 8 minutes. The pot will display "ON" for 10 minutes or so while the pot comes to pressure. The pot will then begin counting down from 8.
- When the timer sounds and the pot hits L0:00 quick release the pressure by turning the valve at the top from seal to vent. Steam will release from the top.
- Remove the lid and discard any excess water.
- Mash the potatoes down with a fork. Stir in the butter, milk, and sour cream until you've reached your desired consistency.
- Enjoy!
