What Is In Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding?
I love the flavor combination of bananas and peanut butter! When I first tried the Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding, I love it, but I wanted more! While thinking of how to tweak this recipe to make a new variation that is even better, I began thinking what flavor works well with bananas. Instantly, I thought of peanut butter! I ran to the store to buy some nutter butters to add to this recipe and absolutely loved how they turned out! The flavor and crunch from the nutter butters adds the perfect texture to this delicious pudding!

I also tweaked the cookie that I use in this variation of the banana pudding. Typically, a vanilla wafer is used as the crunch piece. As I was playing around with different crackers and cookies, I found that I love the way the chessman cookies hold up in this dessert! They have a great buttery, flaky texture that adds another delicious flavor element! I knew I had to share this delicious recipe variation with all of you!

The fun thing about this recipe is that you can play around with the way you serve it! If you are making it for a crowd or a party, you can build all the ingredients up in a trifle bowl, and serve it right out of the dish. Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 30 Chessmen Cookies
- 30 Nutter Butters, chunked
- 6 bananas sliced
Instructions
1. Mix together the water, pudding mix, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Refrigerate for 4 hours or up to overnight.
2. Beat whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, until soft peaks form. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping. Fold the rest into the pudding mixture.
3. In a trifle bowl, layer chessman cookies, pudding mix, nutter butters, and sliced bananas alternating until you used up all the ingredients. Top with the remaining half cup of whipping cream.
4. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
To make this mixture even better and have the pudding be light and fluffy, you can add a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin mix to the whipping cream as it whips. Simply place one teaspoon of unflavored gelatin mix in 2 tablespoons of water and allow it to sit for 2-3 minutes, until it becomes a solid. Then, microwave the gelatin for 10 seconds to bring it back to a liquid state, then add it to the whipping cream. Continue to whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
