These Midnight Almond Coconut Donuts are my new favorite treat! These are similar to chocolate cake donuts but healthier, moist & flavorful. Seriously, these healthier donuts are so good! They are made with all-natural ingredients, with no added sugar, and they have a little protein boost! These donuts are still considered a “treat” but a better option than a traditional donut. Make them with me!

Healthier Chocolate Cake Donut
I’ve been making protein donuts for a long time! I purchased my first donut pan back in 2017 because I just thought they sounded fun.
Currently, I have about 4 protein donut recipes on my blog, and they are some of my most popular recipes! I think it’s because they are so easy to make, fun to eat, and are a healthier treat option.
For this recipe, I wanted to focus less on having it be a “protein donut” and not worry about adding protein powder to the batch, but more on having it be full of all natural ingredients with no added sugar.
I totally succeeded! Not only are these donuts crazy delicious, but they are also a treat you can feel good about!
I compare these Midnight Almond Coconut Donuts to a baked chocolate cake donut with a chocolate glaze. They are amazing!
Midnight Almond Coconut
You are probably thinking, that is a strange name for a donut recipe, but I have my reasons! I made this recipe with one of my favorite Offbeat Butter flavors, the Midnight Almond Coconut.
It’s the main flavor source in this recipe and it makes it totally delicious! That is why I wanted to name the donut recipe after the offbeat butter I used inside, Midnight Almond Coconut.
You can also sub out regular almond butter in this recipe if you don’t have this flavor.
But, if you want to shop it and stock up, my affiliate link will save you 10% off all Clean Simple Eats and Offbeat Butter products! You will not need a code, the discount will automatically be applied if you shop through my links!
If you buy 5 Offbeat Butters, you can save $5. My other favorite flavors of offbeat butter are the cinnamon bun, aloha, salted caramel, candy bar, and crunchy almond toffee!
Where do I buy donut pans?
For this recipe, the donuts are baked and not fried. That means, they do require a donut pan to get the desired shape when baking.
I ordered my donut pans off of amazon and I’ve been really happy with them! They are non stick and I like that it comes in a pack of 2, because most baked donut recipes make 12 donuts.
I like the Wilton brand. I’ll link my pans here.
Another product you may want for this recipe is a standard piping bag, to pipe the batter into the donut molds. You can also use a large zip lock baggie and remove the tip and it will work the same.
