Mini Nutella Hand Pies
Yields 6 Hand Pies
For the Crust: Follow this Recipe http://abountifulkitchen.com/2017/11/basic-pie-crust.html/
For the Filling:
1 jar of Nutella
Extra’s:
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
Once you follow A Bountiful Kitchen’s recipe for how to make the best Flaky Pie Crust, it’s time to roll out the dough. Roll it out to about 1/8 inch think and use a round cookie cutter to cut out 12 pieces of the crust.
Place the first 6 rounds of dough down on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place a tablespoon of Nutella in the center of each dough. With some water nearby, dip your finger in the water, and run it around the outer rim of the dough. This will create a seal.
Then, place the other rounds on top of the nutella and press the edges firmly to seal them. I like to create a pretty edge by using a fork and pressing it into the outer edge to create a decorative edge.
Cut a slit into the top of each hand pie to allow air to circulate. Whip one egg and brush it over each hand pie. Next, sprinkle a little granulated sugar over each pie, this will create a nice golden crust.
Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
When finished, top with a dusting of powdered sugar and more Nutella drizzle!
