Make your mom feel extra loved with this easy Mother’s Day menu. If you haven’t decided what to get your mom this Mother’s Day yet, here’s an idea: prepare a special meal just for her. Each element of this menu has one common ingredient, edible flowers! Edible flowers make a tasty addition to many recipes and pack a lot of unique nutrients and antioxidants that have special medicinal benefits. Not to mention they are beautiful in food! I’ve teamed up with bloggers Ashleigh and Risa to create the perfect Mother’s Day Menu!
A Complete Mother’s Day Celebration!
For this fun Mother’s Day Menu, I have teamed up with two incredible ladies to make this idea come to life! We each brought our own creative element to the table so to speak.
For the beautiful printable table placemats you see in these images, I will direct you to Risa at @restlessrisa_risabaker. She’s incredibly talented and has printables for every occasion!
For all the info on the edible flowers and which ones we used for these recipes, plus where to get them, I will direct you to Ashleigh at @monalisafair.
As for the recipes, that is where I come in! Here are three fabulous ways to use edible florals in your food! Let’s get cooking!
What is on the Menu?
As mentioned, we found a way to incorporate edible flowers and make a complete meal. This meal consists of the following:
- A Hibiscus Tea
- Spring Spinach Salad
- Apple Sheet Cake with Brown Butter Frosting
Hibiscus Tea
For the tea, we simply used a package of tea from Trader Joe’s. We brewed it according to the package instructions and sweetened it with sugar until it was sweet to the taste. Ashleigh added the fresh edible flowers on top.
Apple Sheet Cake with Brown Butter Frosting
A deliciously moist spice cake, topped with the most incredible brown butter glaze! You know, the kind of glaze that cracks when it hardens? That is my favorite!!
Here’s the cake recipe.
Again, Ashleigh added the fresh edible flowers on top for decoration! She’s your gal for all things flowers, and they are also edible!
Garden Spring Spinach Salad
This salad is a yummy one! It’s arguably the prettiest salad I have ever made! I’ll put the recipe in the recipe box below. Once again, Ashleigh is your girl for the flowers that we added to it.
This collaboration was so fun! We hope you enjoy these fun Mother’s Day Menu ideas and try them in your home!
