This super delicious One Skillet Chicken with creamy sauce is a great way to dress up bland, boneless, skinless chicken breasts. And it’s super easy, too! This dish comes together in under thirty minutes and is loaded with flavor. You’ll want to serve this over a bed of rice or noodles to enjoy all the delicious extra sauce. I also love adding a green vegetable like broccoli or peas to round out the meal. Make it with me!

What You’ll Need to Make Easy One Skillet Chicken
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Half a teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- One teaspoon poultry seasoning- the Magic Seasoning Blend Poultry Seasoning by Chef Paul Prudhomme is my current favorite.
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
For the Creamy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

How to Make One Skillet Chicken
- Season the chicken breasts with seasonings.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the milk and chicken broth, whisking constantly to create a smooth, thick sauce. Stir in the garlic powder, cheddar cheese, and parmesan cheese. Cook for two more minutes until the cheese melts.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the top. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, with a green vegetable side.
