I don’t know about you, but I always have a bag of frozen potstickers or dumplings in my freezer! They are so delicious, and normally, they make for an easy side dish to orange chicken or teriyaki beef.
However, I decided to make them the star of the show in this easy potsticker soup.
Dinner doesn’t get simpler than this quick & easy potsticker soup. Made with frozen gyoza and ready in under 20 minutes, it’s a delicious last minute dinner recipe you’ll want to have on repeat!
I like buying my frozen potstickers at Trader Joes or Costco, but anywhere you can grab them will work for this recipe!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 16 to 20 ounces frozen potstickers
- 2 Tablespoons minced fresh ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 1 cup finely chopped carrots
- 6 cups vegetable broth
- 3-4 stalks of celery, chopped
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cups cut napa cabbage
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Here’s How to Make It
- Heat oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Add the frozen potstickers in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until browned on the bottom. Remove from the pot and set aside.
- Add garlic, ginger, and the shallot. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Add the diced carrots and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add the vegetable broth and celery stir to combine. Continue heating until the broth reaches a boil.
- Add the sesame oil, soy sauce, cabbage, and the potstickers to the pot. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the potstickers are warmed through. Garnish with sesame seeds. Taste and season with additional soy sauce or salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
