A simply delicious pumpkin spice cake topped with cream cheese glaze! The pumpkin cake layer is moist and soft and very flavorful thanks to the array of spices! I then top it with a homemade cream cheese glaze that I just love! This is a recipe you are going to love! Make it with me!
Pumpkin Spice Cake
This cake recipe is one of my favorites because it is so easy to make and it turns out every single time! It really is a no fail recipe!
The cake bakes up flat and beautiful!
The inside is so incredibly moist and flavorful! The pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves create a delicious taste in every bite!
Recipe Adaptation
I actually built this recipe off of another cake recipe that was already on my site. My apple spice cake has been a total hit this month and for good reason!
I had a thought that if I switched the apple sauce for pumpkin, cup for cup, I could make a pumpkin spice version of this awesome cake. It worked!
I traded out the apple sauce for canned pure pumpkin and kept everything else the same! The cake baked up beautifully!
So, you can now make either an apple spice cake or a pumpkin spice sheet cake and either flavor will be delicious!
Cream Cheese Glaze
For this recipe, I topped the pumpkin spice cake with a cream cheese glaze! The glaze is really simple to make!
All you need is cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar! Mix the ingredients together and spread over the hot cake out of the oven!
But, if you want, my brown butter glaze from my apple spice cake recipe would also be delicious served over the top! The choice is up to you!
