Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies are fudgy, gooey brownies with pretzel pieces and chopped up pieces of milk chocolate, salted caramel squares. These brownies are the ultimate dessert. They are so dense and rich; I love serving these brownies with a side of vanilla ice cream. The best part? These brownies are made to feed a hungry crowd! Make them with me!
Brownies for A Crowd
These Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies are made in a jelly roll pan and this recipe can make up to 50 servings!! How’s that for crowd-pleasing? Speaking of crowd-pleasing, these brownies are a sweet & salty chocolate lovers dream! It’s got elements of flavor from chocolate frosting, to chunks of salted caramel, and even crushed up pretzels. What’s not to love?
The Brownie Layer
I know some people prefer a chewy, gooey brownie and others a more cake-like brownie. I am right in the middle! These brownies are the perfect combination! I like them a little chewy but not too chewy and a little cake-like but not too cake-like. They are really perfect if you ask me!
This brownie recipe is great on its own! You could serve it topped with powdered sugar alone and it would taste delicious. Or you could frost the brownies with my chocolate frosting (recipe below) and stop there. But if you’re like me, you’ll want to take these brownies to the next level! It’s all about the toppings. Find out what makes these Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies so unique!
The Toppings
The brownie itself in this recipe is delicious. Believe me, we love it on its own!! But when topped with these sweet and salty topping, they kind of steal the show!
First, I top the brownies with a layer of chocolate frosting! This is my standard chocolate buttercream frosting and it’s one of our favorites. The thing I love most about frosting these brownies is that you don’t have to wait for them to completely cool before frosting. In fact, it’s better if you frost them warm, then as it cools with the toppings, everything sets together! Trust me!
I then top the chocolate frosting layer with bits of crushed salted caramel squares and crushed pretzels.
Yes, you read that right! I take my favorite Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Squares from Mrs. Calls and chop them up into smaller cubes, and sprinkle them around the brownies. The caramel is so good & soft!!
For the pretzels, I simply crush up a cup or so of regular pretzels and place them on the top layer, along with the caramel squares! The combination of salty & sweet makes for a party in your taste buds!
Just add ice cream!
