Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Hot Homemade Apple Cider are a few of my holiday classics! This year, I’m using McCormick® seasonings and mixes to add delicious flavor to these traditional dishes! During the holidays, when it seems like there’s never enough space in the oven or on the stovetop, let your Instant Pot help out. Instant Pot recipes will free up some space, cook in far less time, and make your holiday season a whole lot easier.
I make both my Mashed Potatoes & Gravy and Homemade Apple Cider in my Instant Pot! I’m sharing these recipes below!

I’m sharing two of my holiday classic recipes, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy and Homemade Apple Cider! For these recipes, I picked up McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix, Nutmeg, Ground Ginger, Cinnamon Sticks, and Whole Cloves from my local Walmart! #McCormickMakesItHome
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
These Mashed Potatoes & Gravy are super quick and easy to throw together! I love cooking potatoes in my Instant Pot! It’s the only way I make them now!
You know when you are boiling the potatoes and the water splashes everywhere and ruins your cook top? Well now, that is a problem no more! You can quickly soften the potatoes in the Instant Pot in 8 minutes! No messy, starchy water! Add a little cream and milk, and you have delicious mashed potatoes ready to rock in roll in no time! All they need is a little gravy.
I actually love McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix for two reason! 1. This gravy comes together in no time at all! It takes a few minutes on the stove top and then it’s ready to roll! 2. It have an incredible flavor! That is a win win in my book!
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Ingredients
- 6-8 large potatoes of choice, my favorite are Yukon Gold
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 package McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix
Instructions
- Peel and prep potatoes by cutting them into one inch cubes. Place in Instant Pot.
- Fill Instant Pot with water, enough to cover the potatoes by an inch. Place on the lid, making sure the valve it set to seal. Manually set the timer to 8 minutes.
- While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix by following the instructions on the packet.
- When the potatoes are finished cooking, quick release the pressure.
- Drain out any remaining water and return potatoes to the Instant Pot. Stir in the milk and butter and fluff with a fork. Serve hot with McCormick® Turkey Gravy.
Instant Pot Apple Cider
Apple Cider is a holiday classic! Taking the time to make it at home makes it even more delicious! This Instant Pot Apple Cider recipe is the best drink for fall, and the holiday season, to keep you warm! Making your own homemade apple cider from scratch couldn’t be easier when you use an Instant Pot. It’s made using fresh ingredients like oranges, apples, McCormick® cinnamon, McCormick® ginger, maple syrup and McCormick® cloves.
All of those delicious sweet and spicy flavors are infused together in just 15 minutes of cooking time! Spiced apple cider is a traditional, seasonal, favorite drink during the fall and holiday months. It’s such a cozy, comforting drink – one that both kids and adults can enjoy.
Steps to Homemade Cider!
Prep the Fruit!
Place all the ingredients in the Instant Pot! Set the timer and pressure cook.
When finished, mash up fruit with potato masher!
Serve hot!
Homemade Apple Cider
Ingredients
- 6 apples, sliced
- 2 oranges, quartered
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon McCormick® whole cloves
- 2 McCormick® cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon McCormick® ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Prepare your apples and oranges. Remove the cores from the apples and quarter the oranges. You can leave the peels on!
- Add the apples, oranges, maple syrup, McCormick® cloves, McCormick® cinnamon sticks, McCormick® ginger, and nutmeg to the Instant Pot.
- Next, add the water. Be sure there is enough to submerge all the ingredients.
- Lock the lid, set the valve to seal, and manually set the timer to 15 minutes.
- When finished, quick release the pressure. Remove the lid.
- Mash the now softened fruit up with a potato masher to release the juices.
- Carefully strain the solids from the liquids using a fine mesh sieve. Discard solids and serve hot.

Wow, those mashed potatoes and gravy look amazing. I love that you left some skin on. My hubby loves to remind us that’s where most of the nutrients are when we leave the skin of our baked potatoes. lol. I think I need to get myself an InstaPot asap! Cider looks tasty, too!
