How was everyones Halloween? I hope that everyone had an amazing evening filled with minimal tricks and many TREATS. I know that I did. Halloween is one of the many nights a year you just have to indulge in the holiday. The candy is readily available and it isn’t going to eat itself. Sometimes it’s ok to just let go and have the milky way. Or 4 if they are fun sized, you know the rules. That is what makes Halloween so fun! My favorite after Halloween treat are these Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites!!
Are you looking for a way to use up your leftover candy corn? Well look no further! Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites are the perfect treat to get the job done! Everything is done in the microwave, and there is no baking required! This recipe tastes just like the real candy. If you are a butterfinger fan, this recipe is for you!
So now, Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is well on its way. It’s time to adjust to the next event and keep moving forward. In my Cultural Aspects of Food class I am (was currently studying at the time) at the University of Utah, we had a fun assignment this last week. The assignment was to identify how food places a role in our life and how it defines our culture. We had to do so, using a video/media presentation. This type of assignment is right up my alley. I love talking about food and making videos is one of the many hobbies I have. Unfortunately, I was rushed into completing this assignment before the deadline, so it isn’t as creative and professional as I would of liked. But hey, I got it in on time.
In the video, I get to talk about myself and what food really means to me. While doing so, I chose to display my love for cooking by making some candy corn butterfinger bites while talking. It helped me feel more comfortable in front of the camera and gave me something to do with my hands. Why butterfingers? Well, because that was what I had in my apartment on hand. I had some left over candy corn that I hadn’t used, a jar of peanut butter, and some hershey’s kisses. So, if you would like, you can check out this video I created this last week for my assignment, or you can keep scrolling to the recipe!
