This Chinese Chicken Salad is BEYOND DELICIOUS! One of my favorite things to order at Chinese Restaurants is the Chinese Chicken Salad. This copycat recipe is restaurant quality that you can easily make right at home, except it’s healthier and a million times tastier! Crispy chunks of ramen, shredded chicken, carrots, and slivered almonds all topped and coated in a delicious asian dressing! Make it with me!
Chinese Chicken Chopped Salad
The hero of this Chinese Chicken Salad is the Asian Dressing and crunchy noodles. It can make any bowl of fresh greens beyond delicious! Made with cabbage, carrots, green onions and chicken, finished with sesame seeds, this is terrific for a main course or as a stand alone side dish.
I call it a chopped salad because everything in this dish is chopped up nice and bite sized! Chopped lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and green onions! Even the chicken is chopped up nicely!
What Chicken Should I Use?
You can use any chicken for this recipe!
Rotisserie Chicken that is fully cooked and shredded will work nicely, plus it’s already ready to roll!
You also can cook up some chicken breasts or thighs and cube them to add to this salad. Throw it on a baking sheet in the oven at 375 with a little salt & pepper for 50 minutes. YUM!
I often throw a few breasts in my Instant Pot with a 1/2 cup of chicken broth and cook it manually for 20 minutes, then shred it with two forks.
Chinese Chicken Toppings
If you are familiar with this salad, you know it’s all about the delicious toppings! I have added carrots and chopped green onions to this salad!
I added slivered almonds for a nice added flavor and crunch! Nuts and asian flavors pair SO WELL together!
I also added some broken up dry top ramen packets to this salad! This gives it a great crunch! You could also use traditional La Choy Chow Mein Noodles if you have those on hand.
Another great addition to this salad that isn’t in the images would be mandarin oranges. I love the burst of flavor and freshness oranges add to this dish!
