One Peloton Bike: My Favorite Way to Exercise

April 15, 2020 by Alex Daynes

The One Peloton Bike that goes no where is HANDS DOWN, my very favorite way to exercise! I seriously love it! The workouts, the instructors, the music, the convenience, and the other classes make the whole experience a HOME RUN for me! Every time I share my bike or my ride on my Instagram, I get a flood of questions about it. I figured it was time to write up a blog post all about all things One Peloton! Let me tell you everything I love about it and why! I also have a discount code you can use for $100 off accessories in the post! Let’s get to it!

The Peloton Bike

The Peloton is so much more than just a bike, but I guess we’ll start there! Peloton Bike’s main purpose is providing high energy, indoor cycling classes right from your home. Nothing will beat the convenience of having the ability to get a tough workout any time of the day in your own home. With the peloton bike, there are no excuses to not workout! A 30 minute workout is just that, a 30 minute workout. You don’t have to factor in travel time to drive to the gym and park, get set up, and then get it done. You simply clip in, select the workout that works for you for that day, and ride!

The bike provides you with performance-tracking metrics and a leaderboard to keep you hustling hard and brings the element of competition to your classes. Don’t want to compete? Tap it and it goes away! There are nearly 1 million members of the Peloton community. There are also thousands of classes offered with a wide variety of styles & instructors available either live or on demand! The live classes are super motivating and getting on the bike and working out in real time with other people is very fun. You can high five people or get shout outs from the instructor.

There are several different styles and lengths of classes offered at Peloton.

Cycling Classes Offered At Peloton

You can pick a ride based on the time commitment: 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes.

Also, you can choose a ride based on type of class and intensity: HIIT, Tabata, Climb, Intervals and Arms, Low Impact, Beginner, Power Zone, or Theme Rides.

You can even break down the rides by music: Pop, Rock, 90’s, EDM, Club Bangers, Country, Hip Hop, and Latin.

There really is a class and something for everyone! The more you ride, the more you will figure out what style of classes you like and you will find your fit!

My Favorite Classes

My favorite classes are the hit it, quit it, say you did it rides! I like the HIIT rides for 30 or 45 minutes. Sometimes a 20 minute Tabata Ride does the trick! I also like the Pop & EDM rides or the Theme Rides because the music plays a huge part for me!

The Instructors at Peloton

Just as you find your style of classes, you will find your style of instructor. ALL of the instructors at Peloton are incredible! They are motivational, fun, uplifting, funny, and bring their own personality to each class. There really are instructors for everyone and everyones personality.

If you want to be pushed to your limit and work hard, allow me to introduce you to Robin, the head instructor at Peloton. Want to be uplifted and motivated, while getting your sweat on- try Ally. If you want to laugh and be silly and ride to the beat of the music- try Cody. Want to get technical and really improve your endurance and bike technique- try Matt.

There are over 20 different cycling specific instructors, and over 30 Peloton instructors. Try them all and I guarantee you will find your people!

My Favorite Instructors

Robin, Ally, Kendal, Cody, Alex, Jess, Chase, and Olivia are some of my top instructors. I have different instructors I like for different workouts, different moods, and different days but these are my people!

Other Peloton Workouts

I LOVE the cycling classes! I love the instructors and the motivation that the cycling classes bring. But, cycling is not the only thing the Peloton App offers! There are other categories of classes offered at Peloton including strength, yoga, cardio, meditation, running, outdoor running, stretching, and bootcamp!

My current stats as of today for how many classes I’ve taken in the last 18 months are: 300 cycling rides, 132 strength classes, 50 stretches, 30 meditations, 25 running classes, 6 yoga classes, and 2 dance cardio classes.

As you can see, other than the cycling classes, I do the strength classes pretty often! I actually like being told what to do, and following an instructor. The strength classes are broken down by full body, lower body, upper body, bodyweight only, and core work.

With your Peloton membership, you have unlimited access to ALL these amazing classes anytime you want from you tablet on your bike or tread, or from your phone!

Why I Started Peloton

I have been a member of the One Peloton Community for about a year and a half. The first time I had ever rode a Peloton Bike was actually on a vacation in a hotel gym. I rode a few times that trip and thoroughly enjoyed the classes! The instructor was very motivating, I sweat a ton, and I burned a couple hundred calories. I LOVED IT!

I had taken spin classes before at cycle studios such as SoulCycle, but never on a consistent basis. After the trip, I started riding my In-Laws bike a few times a week. Later that year, my mom purchased a Peloton Bike for her home gym, and that’s when I really got into the community.

Full Disclosure: I actually do not personally own my own bike and here’s why: I have two peloton bikes that I am able to ride within 5 minutes from my house. I can ride my parents bike at their house, or I can ride my in laws bike, and it works right now to bounce back and fourth with my schedule! That is not to say that I won’t own my own in the future! I 100% will buy my own bike when I don’t have access to 2 so close by. The investment is so worth it to me!

Bike Cost & One Inclusive Membership

The Peloton bike is about $2,200 for the bike itself. You can set up a payment plan of $58/mo for 39 months at 0% APR for qualified. There is also a monthly membership of $40. The bike is definitely an investment, but it is 100% worth it in my opinion. If you do the math, at $40 a month for unlimited classes, you can see how cost effective it is!

When you buy the Peloton bike, anyone in your house can use it with their own account! You can have up to 10 members under one account. With that one membership, you have access to any and all the classes and content available at Peloton. There are seriously thousands of classes on demand.

You can also just be an app user, meaning you can take the classes on your smart phone on a regular bike, for $12.99 a month.

You can read more about the Peloton Bike pricing and financing on their website.

A Discount Code!

I do have a discount code if you are interested in purchasing a Peloton Bike. You can use my code 7293PT at checkout to receive $100 towards accessories at purchase. https://www.onepeloton.com/bike

Try Before You Buy!

There are several ways to try before you buy!

If you want to try out the Peloton workouts before fully committing to a Peloton, you can try the Peloton app FREE for 90 days right now! https://www.onepeloton.com/digital/checkout/digital-90d

The app gives you access to all the classes, instructors, and workouts so you can take a variety of workouts on your own bike, tread, or in your home and see if you like it!

You can also head to a Peloton showroom and book a ride to test it out! The employees there will help you with bike set up, shoes, and get you started on a class!

Peloton also offers a 30-day, no strings attached, in-home, trial if that’s more your jam, but believe me, you’ll fall in love and want it to stay forever! Get more details on their website!

Final Thoughts

I am totally Peloton Obsessed! I am obsessed with the bike and the community! I’ve found my instructors and I have found my people. Everyone I know that has a Peloton membership, bike, tread, or app, loves it! The price is 100% worth it for EVERYTHING you get!!

If you love working hard, getting a good sweat, dancing to the music, and having FUN while exercising, Peloton is for you! If you have a peloton or get one, be sure to follow me! My username is TheAlexDaynes and I’d love to see you on the leaderboard!

XOXO,

Alex

You no longer have the visual explanation 🤰 for how you’re feeling on the inside.

You may look ā€œnormalā€ again but you don’t feel yourself.

Your clothes don’t fit like they used to. The weights are lighter than normal. The workouts don’t feel like they did before.

You have to work to find yourself again.

I always say exercising after birth is much harder than exercising pregnant.

Keep showing up. Keep pushing. Keep rebuilding.
